A weight loss league is helping Aston Villa fans to get in shape and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Run by the Foundation, Healthy Goals is a five-a-side competition that takes place in the Academy Building at Villa Park every Wednesday from 8-10pm.
But the programme is about more than just getting people active, with coaches offering advice and guidance on nutrition, lifestyle and physical wellbeing.
And to measure players’ progress, there are weekly weigh-ins and blood pressure checks to encourage the group to take responsibility for their own fitness journey and to support others with theirs.
Health and Wellbeing Manager Ryan Hollings said: “It doesn’t matter whether you’re good, bad or indifferent at football, Healthy Goals is about getting active, enjoying yourself and losing some weight along the way.
“We’re keen to expand the league as more people find out about the impact this can have on their lives.”
Launched in July 2018, each league season runs for 16 weeks – at which point a new league season will begin.
Healthy Goals costs just £5 per session and takes place in the Academy Building at Villa Park every Wednesday from 8-10pm.
